FAQs on Credit rating affecting immigration

Hi there all!

Does anyone have experience or knowledge of whether or not a credit check is done on applicants to OZ, and how this affects your application

No credit check done & doesn't affect you moving to Aus.

And from what I have seen and heard no-one in Aus takes any notice of UK credit ratings.

You could for instance obtain a credit rating from the likes of Equifax which shows what a wonderfully reliable person you have been but they won't accept it so you start off as neutral.

Advantage is of course if you have a checkered record you are also starting as neutral.

It may be an issue for business skill migrants, but not normally for general skilled.
