I have family who are Australian citizens. I am about to ask them to sponsor me to help me accrue more points my visa application.

B4 i ask them, does anybody know what is actually involved in sponsorship?

If you are looking at a Skilled - Family Sponsored visa be aware that you will need an Assurer as well as a Sponsor.

The Assurer is the person that carries the financial risk - and doesn't have to be the same relative of the visa applicant (but usually is).
