Family or IT skilled - which is faster ?
Hi,
My wife & I are considering moving to Australia. I am an IT Project Manager with 12 years experience in IT. I have an honours degree in Computing Science and hold MCSE, MCSD and MCDBA Microsoft qualifications. I also have family in Australia (Uncle, Aunt and loads of first cousins). My question is this, which class of application would I be better pursuing : Family or Skilled (or some other that I don't know). Also, which office is the quickest to apply to ? Thanks for any help you can give. |

Hi Ian,
You need to apply in Adelaide (no option since 1 November) and generally unsponsored is quicker although if any complications arise being sponsored gives you the right to an appeal to the MRT. Ian, all IT skilled people are being fast-tracked, we have received our visas in less than four months. Do you realise you have to have your skills assessed with the Australian Computer Society first? That took three weeks for us, although I think there is a backlog at the moment which means a wait of eight weeks or so.

Jacqui,
When you say four months, did that include the ACS cert as well? What field of IT are you in? Also, did you do a RPL? thanks! sorry for all the questions, Aaron "Jacqui" <[email protected]> wrote in message news:[email protected]... > Ian, all IT skilled people are being fast-tracked, we have received our visas in > less than four months.
