Default Family areas in Melbourne

Hi everyone,

First time on this site and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a suburb near Moorabbin that would be suitable for a young family? Hopefully I will be working in Moorabbin (fingers crossed) in the near future and me, my partner and two sons (4 and 1) will be emigrating from the North of England.

Ideally we would be looking for somewhere north of Moorabbin, with a good school, nice parks, reasonable rental prices and a shopping centre close by. Might be asking for too much here but any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks! Rob

Welcome.
You are working in the best side of Melbourne.
Mentone /Cheltenham/parkdale/ are only a few stops on the train away on top of the beach.
If you have a car try Dingley as it does not have a train line but still very close.
Hope this helps.
Also try this site to see house prices.

Yep as said above Mentone / Parkdale / Mordialloc all within 15 mins drive of Moorabbin and excellent family areas.

it would be nice after people have taken the trouble to reply to get any sort of
answer from the person asking the question.

The OP hasnt visited the site since the day he posted this post.

maybe doesnt have email notification on, lost password whatever.

If somebody else can benefit from the advice, at least it has served a purpose.

I have to say that I've also grown increasingly tired of posting helpful (well I think so !) responses and then never receiving even a quick thanks. I've stopped replying as much as I used to.
