You can't do it. We had to leave ours behind. See

p.s. he's free flying and has the run of the house, he's not locked in a cage.

Why bother? Australia is parrot/cockatoo/budgie central. The difference being that they are wild here.

Why bother bringing a dog? Isn't Australia dingo central?

Nope. The dingo is in decline and too interbred with other dogs. They're also harder to get to flock into your back yard and sit around your garden pecking at seeds.
Also, the colours aren't quite as good.

One day, may be I will understand why people want to keep birds in cages when the self same birds, and better are flying free outside around your home.

It's like keeping polar bears etc in zoos - totally barbaric and should be banned.

Will get off soap box now

I wonder if anyone knows the Environmental Health rules with reference to parrots (rosellas, acutally) - specifically, is it legal to prepare and sell fish and chips to the general public with a parrot sitting on your shoulder, and flying freely around the food preparation area? :scared: Or is that a quaint Aussie custom that doesn't faze anyone else?

I'd say that's probably not totally within the Environmental Health laws, Polly.

I wouldn't buy from there. Did you report it?

I don't read them. Well, some of them.

p.s. its illegal for cats to be out at night in Brisbane. They have to be locked indoors which is totally unnatural behaviour. Is that barbaric? Step off soapbox.

They are also very difficult to handle. I would never ever have a dingo as a pet, nor a dingo cross. There are several at my local park and they are hideous, anti-social dogs.

Why? Are they sat on the park benches drunk or drugged up telling people to eff off?
