Default Exchanging traveler cheques into AUD

In a month I will be arriving Down Under, not only on a visa validation trip, but for good...

As I couldn't open a bank account in Australia from Brazil, I wasn't able to send my money straight to a bank. Therefore, most of the money I am bringing is in Traveler Cheques.

Can anyone tell me if I will have to pay any exchange commission when cashing it (or depositing) in a bank? Or can I consider that every AUD in TC worths exactly the same in cash?

Thanks in advance!
