Just received call from HIFX ......... all done and dusted , $2.4 in the bag!

Oh also called doc's about med's earlier and they said blood tests back from lab and urine tests ok , everything being posted to DIMA this afternoon!

Just off to get my lottery ticket....... way thing's going bound to win!

No ...they make their % on the rate!

They make around 2 cent's on the dollar. Yesterday they got a commercial rate of $2.42 , then sold to me at $2.4.

Us expats have really been stitched up by the strong Aussie dollar. When we first came to Oz in 2002 the exchange rate was almost $3 to the £. Now it's hovering around $2.4. We're just in the process of buying real estate and I'm watching the exchange rate every day because we have until the beginning of April to get our cash over here from the UK account and settle with the vendors. Praying for an $AU crash - I've worked out every cent makes about £650 difference to the price we pay!
