...that's an understatement! $2.18 this morning, wow! The best way to exchange is someone like ozforex.com / tranzfers etc......regarding where exchange rates are going I don't think anyone can really help you there....it's a bit like how long is a piece of string really.

Barclays analyst last night said on Sky News UK that he expected the pound to suffer significantly this year and would continue to be weak, certainly in the short term. There are numerous contributory factors though that dictate the rate but the decision to hold the UK lending rate yesterday has pushed the pound lower. The analyst views are that the pound may not improve in the short term, and may only improve if the rates change.

Not looking good sadly.

Oh I don't know - I'm thinking of moving back! I could re-buy the house I sold with cash, and still have enough left over for a cheeky little run around!

In seriousness though, I wonder how many people would be tempted to move back if the pound substantially weakened against the $?

Re: Exchange Rates

2.191 as I type this. However the US are going to cut their rates by 0.5% this month possibly as early as tomorrow, to ease the problems caused by the mortgage disaster in the US, the one that is currently affecting Centros share price here in Aus. The Aus central bank has suggested our rates will rise this month by 0.25% so in around two weeks, 2.18 might be looking very good, as these rate rises/cuts will have a detrimental effect on the dollar rate.

If it went 1:1 i wouldnt be here!

I brought over at 2.52 and sent back to have same figure i had originally and had a ball with what $ i had here, NOW i need to get it back over soon and i will lose what i had originally gained and will lose that again so the end result is the Missus is gonna kill me:ohmy:

If it goes to 1:2 then i will have to give up my Bud for a few years as compensation:curse:

If it goes to 1:2 then i'm not moving to Aus.Its bad enough with my house value taking a hit ( If i can ever sell :curse: )and Aus prices rising without this added scenario.

Its not looking too clever :(
