Default Exchange rate getting better

Just looked at the exchange rate for the £ against the AU$ and its 2.89.
At last , is our luck changing????
It will probably drastically fall now I've posted this thread!

Im gutted as I changed all my money last month in a panic and got 2.61 what a nightmare. Never mind its the way the cookie crumbles. We have a bit of savings still to change so still wanting it to go up though.
Its a bit of a lottery hey.

Hi Jasmin, were in the same boat some proffesional advised us to get it changed so we did mid June, most of it now in Oz dollars at 2.62 and at the current rate we would have had at least another $20,000, i`m beating myself up over this now ah double Bollocks( PROFFESIONALS) see if we can lose some more on the house while wer`e at it.
All sympathy accepted

Don't beat yourselves up too much, you'll never (well, unlikely) get the best ever rate, all you can hope is that it's OK. 2.62 ain't so awful compared to the lows over the last 5 years.

Unfortunately, we no longer own a house in the UK, all our investments are in shares. And they're currently running at a 5 year low, meaning that the good exchange rate doesn't help that much. D'oh !

Sydney morning herald has this to say
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/...332359989.html

Basically, as the US downturn deepens, the AUD will weaken further. And I thought my 2.7105 was a good rate a few weeks ago....Maybe we'll see 3.00 to the pound by the end of next weeK?
