UK Inflation figures released tommorrow, if they are +2% then it will put upward pressure on interest rates here in the UK, so obviously make sterling more attractive to the currency investors!:)

The Aussie dollar is expected to remain under selling pressure this week given the renewed risk aversion that has impacted upon investor sentiment and equity markets as a result of the continuing fallout from the sub-prime mortgage sector crisis. On the data calendar this week the US retail sales figures are likely to have a direct impact on the Aussie. On the domestic front, Monday’s RBA monetary policy statement will be closely watched for its outlook for interest rates and inflation. |
