EXCESS BAGGAGE WITH CATHAY PACIFIC

Hi all,

We're due to fly out to Australia tomorrow and we have discovered that our packing is going to be over our baggage allowance (we're allowed 20Kg). I have just rung Cathay Pacific directly and been informed that I can't buy Excess Baggage in advance and that it will cost us about £40 per Kilo that we go over when we get to the airport.

Surely, there is a number I can ring to buy excess baggage prior to going to the airport? Does anyone know of one as I really can't reduce my luggage any more than I already have!

Thanks in advance

Nat

Sounds about right to me. Cathay don't do an extra baggage allowance for emigrating. Better off using someone to freight it - if you are going from Heathrow, send it with the Excess Baggage Co who have offices there. You can drop it off with them before flying out. They're cheaper, pretty quick (about a week max to get here) and reliable - I've used them a couple of times :)

Hi, we have just flown with Cathay last week and were approx 8-10 kilos over and they didn't mention anything when we checked in - made sure it was nice and early, so you may find you're ok  Hope so.
