Yep, his mum died when he was nine (she was a pom). His evil step-monster chucked away everything to do with his mum, so when we came back here, we got searching and found his great aunt down in Hornchurch. That led to finding a vast collection of cousiny types all over the country!

Technicaly, Mr B's a geordie as his mum was born in Newcastle UK (the moved to Newcastle Oz when she was 5 - original). I'll call him an essex boy and see how he reacts!
Aaggh poor boy. Does he have any uncles and aunties in the UK?

Nope, but he has three aunties and 2 uncles in Oz (his mum's siblings). He lost touch with them for a while, but he's got them back now which is great.

Phew! Thank god for that. I am fed up with the Essex girl jokes now.

My husband runs a hotel and we have lots of guests from the UK, some of them seem to delight in making really horrible Essex girl jokes. I tell people that I am from London now when they ask as there are only so many Essex girl jokes you can take

Ashingdon near sunny Southend to Perth 2005/2006.

How about the lodge? Hayes Chase, Burnham Road (A132),
Near Battlesbridge, Essex, SS11 7QT
Telephone 01245 320060

http://www.lodge-inn.co.uk/home.htm

It has a big garden, bouncy castles for the kids and the food is very good.

Even closer for me, so gets my vote. So long as the weather is good this would be a good location

that looks great.

I will be back in the UK on 15 August for about four weeks - any time between those dates is fine for me.

Don't forget us - Dave and Jen from Cold Norton & SWF respectively. We now live in Surrey but both have folks in Essex. The Lodge would be OK for us as we have kids.
