Re: On Entering Oz
Just to split hairs it actually depends what type of visa you have.
I am on a sub class 457 and we had no visa labels in our passports. We had to show the letter of grant from DIMIA along with passports.

silly question: when you get off the plane in Aus do you go thru the gate that all the non-aussies go thru or do you go to the Aussie resident gate?

........and I have a dim question too!
Do you have to fill a form (or something) in to say whether you are visiting (holiday validating) or staying permanently?
Thanks,
Karen

Either when you check in, or on the aircraft, you will be given an entry card. On here you indicate whether you are coming for a holiday of permanently migrating. You also indicate on here whether you have anything in you luggage to declare. That is then handed to the immigration officer with your passport.
