Hi may be a silly question but do english video cassettes play on Australian video recorders? Dont want to ship them across if they dont play.

Yes they do but not all australians have double play videos and the long play ones obviously wont work on those recorders. When we do a tape for our relations we have to do it on a normal play format. However if ytou are buying new in australia you would probably go for double play machine so the problem won't arise :PARTY:
