Default England World Cup games in Melbourne

Does anybody have plans to get together to watch these?

I know they're on at stupid o'clock (the first one is Sunday morning at about 4am) but wondered if anywhere will be showing them?

I expect they'll be on in the Sports Bar at Crown, or maybe the Charles Dickens.

Anyway, if anyone's interested or knows of anywhere good to go then please let me know

Al, what bar at Casino are you thinking of?

4 years ago the bar upstairs, which is now called Steakout, was good but the games were earlier.

See Palace Guard's reply above. We're trying to get people together but not likely to be at Crown.

A very wsie ploy Mr A...I'm still slightly worried about the whole not-getting-too-pissed-and-staying-awake thing

And as for the Turf Bar.....hmmmmm. I got thrown out of there a couple of years ago for absolutely nothing (well, I know what it was for but it wasn't my fault, it was the d*ckhead management )

Not sure if I'm going to be around now as I may be going to the Celtic Festival in Portarlington for the weekend, but will see how I go...

A Celtic Festival in Portarlington?????

Come one Diane, you can do better than that!!!!!!!!!

Once every four years and you're thinking of a Celtic Festival ?

You're the one that started the thread!!!!

Come on, Turf Bar !!!!! I'll even get the Palace supporter to buy you a beer!

PS doormen = knobs, where ever you drink in this town!
that's why I'm avoiding the Casino this time, nothing would delight them more than to refuse entry to anyone wearing an England shirt

Well I have a hangover from hell this morning so am not going to the festival - I'll definitely be watching the match somewhere!!
Was in the Elephant and Wheelbarrow in St Kilda watching SA last night - they will have the match on tonight and it was pretty good in there.

Might try Turf Bar though...

Well, that's where we'll be for this one.......a good number of us anyway.

I saw that the E&W were open for games too. We may try that for one of the other games.
All up for discussion on the Facebook group really.
Got about 40+ members in less than a week.

Anyway, maybe meet up with you and some others from here later on.

I'm getting there for the midnight game.

I'll try and do the same. Do you know if they are closing and then reopening, or just staying open?
