Engineering on East coast

Hi,
We are moving as soon as my Visa comes thru (next couple of months hopefully). Looking at Gold coast or Sunshine coast. Is their plenty of work around these areas?
I am an engineering manager at present but am pretty flexible and am more than willing to go back on the machines CNC programming etc.
Any tips etc would be greatly appreciated.
