Salaries?
I've just managed to get a transfer over to Sydney. I'm just about to enter negotiations on salary out there. At the moment I earn £25,000. I'm wanting to know how much other engineering consultants get paid out there? Also if I did a straight currency swap would $59,000 be enough to live/save?
At the moment in the UK I earn roughly 20% more than the national average wage..would this be a better way of calculating it, by taking the average Australian salary + 20%?
Any advice welcome.
Cheers

Find out the average wage for this industry in OZ. Then negotiate your wages. Once this has been done then consider it against the regional average and decide whether it is a liveable income...

I've found that quite hard to do as its a small specialist sector unfortunately and the other out there are higher up so paid quite alot anyway! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if I can dig some more.
