Default Engineeeing technologist

Engineeeing technologist on the home affairs website shows it to be on the MLTSSL but on the SA state nomination website it only appears on the supplementary skilled list instead of the state nominated occupation list. This category is for occupations that are on STSOL and requires you to have 80 points to gain nomination because the occupation is not in shortage.

Anybody able to make sense of this? A civil engineer is also within the STSOL, surely places like adelaide aren't overwhelmed with civils? Bit confused

Adelaide isn't overwhelmed with much. There isn't a huge amount of Civil's work. Maybe the odd driveway shift. No work, no requirement.

That's because there is probably no demand for your skills there. South Australia is a socialist basket case with a joke economy - it survives on handouts from the federal government and the other productive states. Go pretty much anywhere else in Australia (maybe not Tasmania) and your skills will be in demand

Good luck

Thought jobs would be pretty okay with a city with over 1 million people living in it

Have you seen many Civil Engineering jobs advertised there? I did a trip there about a year ago to one of the big EPC firms and the consensus was they spend their time helping the other cities.

Haven't actual looked for any jobs in Adelaide, but since the other major city's, such as; perth, Melbourne and sydney arent classed as regional i thought Adelaide was the next best thing
