Default Emirates Transit Hotel question...

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone has flown Emirates from Glasgow....We have a few hours overnight in Dubai and have been given a voucher for the Millenium hotel....Just wondering if anyone has stayed there....What was it like/Was it far from the airport/Did you have to surrender your passports?

Cheers

Ginny

Millenium Airport Hotel is very close to the airport, haven't actually stayed there but used to live in Dubai and spent many a drunken night in the restaurants / bars in there They probably won't take your passport off you they will just take a photcopy of it and swipe your credit card when you check in. Have Fun !!!!

I can't verify any of the following, but when my mates and their kid got to the arrivals hall and sorted out their transit hotel on a short stopover in Dubai, they were offered a transfer in one of those golf-buggy things. She declined and found that it was such a long walk to the hotel that they more or less had to turn round and head back again to catch the onward flight.

No, you probably wouldn't want to walk from the airport to the Millenium Airport Hotel with luggage , Dubai is not a city for walking anyway (you will see when you get there) just get a taxi they are inexpensive.

We stayed in the hotel last year on a stop over from Glasgow - they pick you up in a free bus and the hotel is only a few minutes away. Hotel is fine for one nights stop over.
On the way back, we upgraded to the hotel they use for their business passengers and this was worth it, especially since we had extended our stay for an extra night.
On the whole, the airport hotel is okay for the nights stop over, esp. since it is free.
Paul

ps - they did not take our passports
