Re: Emirates ?
My wife is considering a change in carrer when we move to Perth and has always wanted to work as cabin crew. We've had a look at the emirates site and it appears that you need to be based from Dubai. Is this true or could she be based in perth ? Any info would be great

Re: Emirates ?
Ahh flying!!! :)
Love flying, I am doing my PPL in the UK... After that I need to decide what to do with regards to my flying training... Im doing a Law degree hence why I can't proceed with the flying, PPL level study is ok, now ATPL would be too much to study together with Law, would fry my brain ... So PPL for now will do... :) I have a couple of friends who are Cabin Crew maybe they can help, but being based in Perth don't think there will be many opportunities (unless regional flying like HCJ mentioned) Maybe Qantas long haul flying would be an option? This would probably involve some commuting around bases in OZ to Perth... |

Re: Emirates ?
That is something I will have to consider, flying is great (depending which airline you fly for) although the industry is not what it use to be before.
Ideally would like try to combine Law with Flying although very difficult unless one does instruction at weekends purely for pleasure has there is hardly any money instructing. The best would be to fly for a big name but then again competition is high, we'll see how it goes... |

Re: Emirates ?
Great advise HCJ! It's good to have advise for experienced pilots and who knows both sides of the coin.
That is another option to consider Dorothy, thank you. Here is some pics I take sometimes when I go flying: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...n/Dsc00771.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...on/Holding.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...Stapleford.jpg And this one was taken by a captain friend of mine: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...Picture002.jpg :D |

All aircrew are Dubai based. They do not have any crew bases outside of Dubai, despite consistant recommendations to do otherwise. |

What about the new Virgin low cost airline which is being set up down there, going to the US and Far East? I can't remember what it's called but it was on OZ Sky News a couple of weeks ago I think.
