Re: emigrating to oz by boat
Are you planning to "stop off" at places along the way and make a big holiday/trip of it all then?

Re: emigrating to oz by boat
You can go on cargo ships on either east or west route (they have nice accomodation for such passengers, but still very expensive as we looked into it). Don't think there are any specific cruise liners that do the whole trip - think you would have to book a series of seperate cruises.

Re: emigrating to oz by boat
Why would anyone do this?
Are you not a great flyer then? Em x |
Re: emigrating to oz by boat
I believe there is at least one cruise line that does it - I remember seeing it advertised. I think it left Oz in Jan - not sure about the other way around and I can't remember how much it cost. So, not a very useful answer :o

Dont forget the cruise is child free IE no children allowed.

Re: emigrating to oz by boat
I've done this cruise 5 times, and it's heaven to cruise round to Brisbane.
No jet lag, relax for weeks, cruise the Panama Canal, shopping in SanFransico, Honolulu, Fiji, adjust slowly, and great entertainment thrown in too. There are many people who choose to travel in this way, and after flying out to Brisbane in May, to validate our visa's I refuse to do it with kids again, so it's Oriana or Aurora for us next time too, remember though Arcadia doesn't allow kids on board. good luck  |
Re: emigrating to oz by boat
Shame-it was cheaper to cruise than fly in the 70's & kids allowed-my parents and I (age 3) went back & forth twice on a ship called the Galileo and we were def not loaded and yet now £5k each:eek:
