Default Emigrating Mogs..

Does anyone know how much it costs to take a cat to Oz?, or if any companys deal with them?
Still waiting on my visa, but suppose I should start looking into things.

On that note, how long does it take from medicals and police checks arriving in DIMIA to the visa being issued?

Counting the days....

If you look at airpets on the net and fill in the required info then they will send a quote to you.

Dont forget the fees in Aus for quarantine etc.
You can find that info on the aus govt. net site.

Cheers BooBoo

Hi

We brought our two cats out last year, and I cant find the details of the company we used to fly them out, so thats not much use is it!!
I can tell you that it cost $960.50 to quarantine them (about £300.00)

I looked into the cost of taking our cat. For transport from York to Heathrow then to Melbourne including cage, vets checks, it was nearly 800 pound including quarantine for 1 month.

It is 1 month for cats from the UK. It does vary. Try this website
www.affa.gov.au for guidelines

The cat has to be chipped which costs and have had certain injections. I spoke to my vet about it aswell and they seemed clued up.

also look at www.petexports.co.uk

Hope this helps

Hi Kev,

Quarantine was about 5 weeks, and they seemed to cope with that really well, the heats not a problem, there are all sorts of long haired cats and dogs out here.
I would'nt go cropping the persians hair!

BooBoo reminds me that we used airpets also, I think the cost was about the £1200.00 mark for the two. (sounds like a lot now).

While they're in quarantine one person gets assigned to look after them and you can phone or visit regularly if you so desire. And when they're released there are several companies that will fly and drive them to your doorstep. (not too expensive).

Chris.
