Commute times into central CBD, nearest train station etc etc.

Is is Hicksville (By that I mean mullet riddled locals) or a nice country retreat ?

This is one for Jacko1 as he lives there. Seemed like a really nice place when we went over that way though.

BTW, you will find mullets everywhere

Stayed there 6 months met a lot of brits there who loved it. but we found it very isolated though I believe they have built the shopping mall now so may be better. Far too quiet for us (we have no kids) very kid orientated. Nearest pub 20 min drive. Near to whiteman park.

About 30 min drive to city.

Havn't been on here for ages and look a thread I can add to :D

Nope not hicksville (mullets everywhere) you need to go further out for that! :D

CBD by car 45-60 mins depending on time of day etc

Nearest train station Guildford on Midland line (15-20 mins)
Great place houses still reasonablea and on decent size blocks, though rapidly catching up with rest of Northern Suburbs.

Really close to Swan Valley (Need I say more) 25 mins to beach.

Great Restaurant strip in Guildford, pretty much a mix of everything local to Ellenbrook. :)

The goellenbrook website is worth a look, type it in on google and have a look.

Really great community feel and good schools, shopping mall etc.

Fantastic for kids loads to do & mostly free.

All depends what you are looking for

Good Luck

I cruised past there today and the surrounding countryside looks like it is a launching pad for Noah's Ark :)

Yes loads of new developments going on there. A new suburb called Vale seems to be going up there too. It's off the Gnangara Road, driving west towards Wangara from Ellenbrook it looks as though a lot of the area will be developed eventually. Seems pretty affordable.

But I would agree with somebody else on here, it is pretty remote. Near to the Swan Valley. You have to drive down towards Guildford for the nearest train station. Depends what you want really.

Must sleeep now...

We visited Perth and Melbourne in March/April this year and have decided to settle in Perth. Visited Ellenbrook after speaking to a friend who visits Perth every year. Seemed like a very good place to live, we have 2 kids 6 and 2 and think that it will be a nice area for them to grow up, nice affordable houses and family focussed. Resassuring that one of your other respondents said that the schools were good as this has been a big concern of ours. Final visa is due any day and hoping to be over in Perth by mid october.
