Electricians - re: ceiling fan instalation
A quick qustion for any sparkies out there.
I'm looking to replace some of the standard lights in my house with ceiling fans with an integrated light.
What I am wondering is, will it be cheaper to get remotes for the fans or get a new light switch with integrated fan controls and then wire that in?
I'll be using an electrician to do the work as I'd electrcute myself and possibly burn the house down!

Hmmm... I would guess that it would be cheaper to go for fans with remotes as wall switched probably will require extra cables hence extra cost and time.
It's one of those questions thats hard to properly answer as it depends on how the house is wired. As your going to get a spark in anyway probably best to discuss with him.

Definitely go for the remotes - not only does it mean no new wiring but you don't have to get out of bed to turn the light/fan off! We had them in the bedrooms of our house in Adelaide and found them very good to use.
