Electricians in Perth

Is this true that I will have to do welding to get my A grade license when I get there, I have never done anything like this during my apprenticeship, so is it worth me doing a small welders course here in preparation. also as you can not work straight away in Perth what have you done for work when you first got there. And also anyone any idea what the pay is like for electricians out there.
And any idea of the timescale for how long it takes to get the license and if there is any other difficulty's in finding a job once you have the license

i have never heard anything about welding in the exam,my friend did it 12 months ago and he never sadi anything about welding...

the pay side of things as i understand is this

award wage at the moment is $22 but most firms pay above award wage average around 25-30 $$$ but i would say as a migrant you will be offered the lowest possible until you are proven (pretty much the same as cis subbing over here)but dont forget to take into account the 30ish% tax you will pay when paye

there sub contract sparks get about 5$ and hr more (so i believe may be wrong)but again as a migrant could take a while to set up a network of companys to sub to...not to sure about the tax for subbie around 18-20% i believe.

hope it helps
