Electrical Technician.

Hi,

I am new to this site and I am looking for some help or information.

I have just applied for a skilled 176 visa and I have had my skills assessed by TRA as an Electrical Engineering Technician 312312.

I have also been sponsored by WA.

My current job is working offshore as an electrical technician and my previous job was working in a power station.

I have never carried out any domestic sparky work and i don't know if i will require to get a licence to work in WA.

I would be grateful for any information that anyone could supply.

Regards

Andi

Check out

You will need a license as an electrician, and a contractors license if you want to work for yourself.

Also have a look in here. Very useful with loads of help from electricians who've been there, done that. It is worldwide but the Aussie lot are 'big'

Re: Electrical Technician.

Thanks to all for the advice,

Bricree, the reason i applied to TRA for an electrical engineering technician was that my skills matched what their description for that post was and it was also on the SOL list, no doubt an electrician is on the list as well.

I have been using a Migration agent and they have guided me through everything so far, setting out and sending my CV to TRA and WA, i am just unsure about this electrician license as you will know yourself domestic sparky work and heavy industrial sparky work are very different jobs.

If i can be of assistance in any way please let me know and i'll try and help in anyway
