Electric bill.....OMG
We just had our first electricity bill through - $371 for 48 days usage.Am in shock! :scared:
We are in a three bed house. We have a gas fire in the lounge, and have been using an electric heater in the babies bedroom at night, daughter has a fan heater which she uses to warm up her room at night, just before she gets into bed - we don't use anything in our room.
No tumble drier and the water is heated with gas.Cannot believe how high this bill is.
Just wondering if this is about average,if not any tips on how to reduce it?

Ours is always that amount, even though we are all out during the day, and no electric is being used!!! That is without the aircon running and the spa is also turned off at the mo!

Family of 6 $190 for 60 days, hot water on gas. Heater on Gas. Pool, water bed, wife home all the time kids dont know where the off switches are, so really not bad at all.
Sounds like the OP little heaters are left on a lot which suck up the power. Also is there any connection fees in that, could attribute about $100 of the total bill.

Also, in Qld it includes a surcharge to pay for ambulance cover - is SA the same?
