Gillard has just got one above on Brown by calling an early election. This will legitimise her position as PM and shows she has some decisiveness. Also means she will get an election in the honey moon period.

Unfortunately for us it means election ads and annoying politicians. The Greens were out at the local shopping centre.

Abbott will also get his judgement.

She had no choice but to call an election now as she needs to get in while she is still in the honeymoon period and before her popularity declines as it is already starting to do.

If she left it any later she would lose the election. Anyone can be decisive when there is only one decision to make.
