I remember there was one in the East Midlands a couple of years back - my mate had just checked into an airport hotel there, put down his heavy flight bag, and as he did so the whole room moved!!!! We always said he carries too much junk with him! Anyway he was talking to me on his mobile at the time and he said it was really weird, just being shaken, and he didn;t know what was happening - went down to reception and they calmly said "Its just an earthquake sir, nothing to worry about" so he ordered lunch - while other guests were running round like headless chickens and paniking!

One of those things, if it gets you theres nowt you can do about it. Always stimulates a good discussion though

Hi pollyana that is the same one im taking about it was corsed by a chimmny drop or somthing like that but the first hit whent up to manchester as well as all over the middlands as my fiance was living down there at time and i was talking to him i had just come of my comp and my hole bedroom shuck to the point my comp moved to the edge i was more worried about my comp then anything or any one else well every one was but all told manchester had 20 quacks to what i know of as i kept looking on the website my other half found

No, sorry Willow, this one really WAS a quake - it was around 2000- 2001 I think,centred around Leicester area/East Midlands.
It was on the BBC news that night as the biggest in the UK for some time.

PS Found it - looks like a chimney may have collapsed as a result, rather than the other way round.....
