Default DVD chipping for NZ?

Does anyone know where (in Auckland) and at what cost I can get my DVD player (Sony) rechipped to play NZ DVDs as well as my UK ones?

Cheers,

Ken.

Have you checked at www.vcdhelp.com to see if
you can do it without
rechipping? There is a list of all DVD players that can be changed the
"soft" way.

The Sony Service Centre can do this in Auckland - costs around $85 I think.
All Sony players come in to NZ region 4 coded (all other brands are
multi-zoned).

There are no software/firmware modifications available to Sony DVD players.
They need to have a hardware modification. Try prominent service agents in
New Zealand or HiFi shops for help. You may find it more cost effective to
purchase a new Sony DVD player (DVPNS305/DVPNS415) which are multi region
out of the box.

Go to dick smiths electronics and get a new DVD player for $300 (mustik),
its multi regional and really good.
