Only know that when we were on a Sydney to Catoomba old crocks ralley a few years ago the people from Dubbo spent all their time on the phone asking if there was any rain yet at home as they were desperate it was double drought time.!

We were there last year - looks like a nice place. (Good hardware shops, anyway!).

It's somewhere we might decide to end up in - depending on the golf clubs there.

They've had a big drought that part of the world recently.

Do you have work to go to in Dubbo? If you don't, can i ask why you chosen the place?

You chances of getting a job on spec are probably about 0, unless you are a shopkeep or a zoo keeper. Apart from that, it looks like a nice little town. Only stopped there one night mind.

Property...now im not sure...but i would guess dirt cheap.

And yes.....as everyone has mentioned. Dubbo is a touch dry

I've passed through twice on my way to Melbourne, quite a pleasant small market town, no traffic problems, on the railway line (could be freight only don't know) and a major river runs through the town.
Houses with acreage block were very common and very cheap.

Dubbo, orange, Parkes v cheap. All the land and houses fairly cheap here - but prob not for long!!!

Gone up a fair amount. Loads of young aussies moving there to establish families.

People forget that Australia is so uninhabitable and the population density so low that Dubbo whilst a small town (by UK city standards) is one of only a handful such sized towns in entire Central Western NSW..

the land grap is still continuing...
