Hi,

We have been told by our agent that we will have to sit a driving theory test in WA in order to get an Australian driving license. Is there a book we could use to swot up on this? Is it available online so we could order this before we come over?

if you have a full UK license, you don't need to sit any test just go in the licensing centre pay your money and get an Australian one. We arrived in March this year and did just that in Rockingham, WA.

But do get hold of the "highway code" for WA and read it thoroughly. There are lots of rules that are different to the UK and ignorance is no defence when you get fined for something.

I think its shit that you can just change ur licence..you should know the road rules...they are very different

It's crazy. Makes no sense. I'm quite glad I had to do it before they changed the rules. My sister took her test in Florida - was a piece of piss. She moved to Greece and was able to swap it over to a European one because that makes sense. She then moved to the UK and swapped it again. She's shit at driving and knows as much about the rules of the road as I do about brain surgery
