Default Driving test

Hi, can any one tell me what the criteria is for driving in Adelaide please.
We have heard that you can drive with your British licence but we are unsure how long for. Also that you have to take a driving test, but our information becomes a bit hazy in respect of the theory test.
One person has said that you have to re-take both the practical and theory, then some one else has said that you only have to take the theory and that you have three chances to pass it.
Does any one know exactly what we will have to take when we get there and also time scales.

Thank you in advance

Jackie

Not to sure about adelaide but in queensland you can drive for 3 months on your uk licence and then you just have to take a 30 question theory test and then they swop your licence for a queensland one no pratical required! And I think that in NSW you dont have to do anything they just change it for a Aussie one. Not heard anyone talking about south oz licences but someone will know! Pete

Just put a search in at the top of the forum page for "adelaide driving licences" a few threads came up and with a quick look someone said that you just swop your licences over for a aussie one like in NSW but dont take my word for it they may be wrong! pete

Someone the other day said that he didn't have to do any test and they just swapped his licence. We haven't got round to it yet, so can't tell you if thats right or not.

We will have to do it soon though as you get 3 months to swap.

Just in case there is a theory test you may want to practise http://www.raa.net/page.asp?TerID=192&rnd=0.7577293#
