We are planning a trip. Where are good stop-off points.Are there any good beaches along the way or must see things?

Hi, We have travelled this route reguarly as our friends live near the Whitsundays and we live near Mooloolaba, we do the journey in one go with stops at Gin Gin, Rockhampton and Mackay and any fuel stops in between it takes about 12 hours in total so we leave around 5 am. The wife and I do around 3 hours driving each in split shifts to keep the fatique down and it is around 1000kms one way. Cant advise on beaches to stop at, we just prefer to get the journey out the way....

I've been to Yeppoon once. That was enough for me.

Yes we visited Yeppoon too as everyone said how beautiful it is, well they forgot to mention the monstrous ugly tower block on the ocean front by the roundabout, how did that get past town planning?

Answers most of your questions. The only places I've visited on that route are: Agnes Water, and it's ok; and Hervey Bay, which seemed a bit of a dump to me.
