Driving in Oz
 
Hi,

Im flying to Brisbane on the 19th on a working holiday, going for around a year hopefully more! I have a full Uk license and im unsure whether i will need to get an IDP or not as i will be there over 6 months ? Or should i apply for an australian license ?

As you are a temporary visitor you don't need to change your licence.

watch out for the early morning breathalizers!! many people i know have been caught out "the day after the night before".. especially when you drive through the hunter (newcastle)..

Your UK licence will be fine.

Indeed it is!

Don't expect all the road rules to be exactly the same as the UK though!!! ;)

Il have a read up on them on the internet, although they always tell you the speed in Kilometers now instead of miles its a pain in the arse !
