hey all.....just a quick question....when we get to auz i understand that we have obtain a aussie drving licence within 3 months of arriving.... what happens if you have penalty points on your UK licence? do they get transferred to your new aussie licence??

Also, is it the same over there as the UK in that you loose your licence on 12 points???

No.

In principle, yes. But check the relevant state/territory website for details.

You do loose your licence at 12 points, or have to show cause why you shouldn't. In England you gain points, in Australia, you loose points per infringement. Also most states now have double demerit points/fines over most major public holidays.
