Driving licence - help!!!
Me again!
I have a UK driving licence (20yrs), do I have to take another driving test in Oz?
Still waiting for the visa - with fingers crossed!

I believe some states only require you to take a theory test - but not sure which ones!!!

In Queensland you just take the theory test again.

SAME IN NEW SOUTH WALES, AFTER THREE MONTHS A THEORY TEST NEEDS TO BE PASSED, APPARENTLY UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO YOU DID NEED TO TAKE A PRACTICAL TEST TOO.

We have just migrated to Melbourne, Vic.
We have just enquired about driving licences. You can drive for 3 months on your UK licence, you then need to take a theory test.
You don't have to take a practical any more.

whv and australia licence?
can someone do there driving test in australia if on a working holiday visa or is this not possible
do you need to live there to have one or get one
does my uk licence cover me for that 12 months
i might have plans to move over there in near future so a australia licence might be handy

You do not need anything.
Just came back from Oz and have been living there last 3 years.
Go to http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/...asdrivers.html
The requirements are listed - you only need to sit an online exam...if you have a UK drivers and you will get your new NSW license.

When we ask about requirements in South Australia you only had to take a driving test but no theory, when my wife finally got round to it, it had changed to a theory and driving test!
