Driving holiday from the sunshine coast?
Just wondering if any of you wonderful people
Have any suggestions on a driving holiday from the Sunshine Coast dont mind if we head north or south and we plan on going for a week.
We were thinking about heading to Tin can bay to see the dolphins and then onto Hervey bay to see the whales.
Other idea was to head towards Sydney and stop off along the way. Anyway if you guys have any ideas or suggestions of things to do , places to stay that would be great. Also we will have to ankle biters with us.
Thanks in advance
Paddy

Have driven to sydney, quite a chug if you have little kids, unless they love the car. Its about 13 hours, some nice scenery along the beach way if your into beaches, beaches, beaches, you know OZ Back road when we went is supposed to be scenic, new england countryside, when we went it was in dought, dusty grass and dead sheep more like
Hervey bay is more 3 hours, bit of cane fields, beaches get flatter as you go up, some rural countryside, OK I guess.
Both of these trips are OK the first time, sydney trip was really good first time, camper van which made it easy on the kdis. When I say first time, I mean we groan about it now as so much of OZ is the same, not really that intersesting once youve done it a few times.
Big 4 caravan parks always worked for us. Or random brown motels, great for freaking teenagers out, like going back to the 70"S

Tin Can Bay is lovely and its a much nicer drive if you're heading to Hervey Bay than the Bruce Highway. To see the dolphins you have to be there early. .. As soon as the food is finished they're off.
Hervey Bay has a lovely calm beach for kids , no big waves, and there is a new waterpark with a whale theme.
Further up Town of 1770 is really nice too but depends how far you want to drive.

Bunya mountains are nice and not that far for little ones.
