Driving

Does anyone have an idea n what licence is needed to be able to buy and ride a scooter, small motorbike over in Aus.

We are moving out next week!!!!!! And will need a car, and probably a second mode of transport, and a scooter is cheaper all round than buying a 2nd car.

I have a full licence to be able to drive a car, but not a bike. Over here (uk) i could ride a scooter, and have a set time to take my test, is this the same over in Australia.

Thanks

We are going to Townsville, fly out on 28th April. I am a nurse so I have had no problems getting work and sponsorship.

"On your bike" (meaning bicycle). You might find it is a more accepted (and tolerated by motorists) form of transport in Aus. Will keep you fit as well.

Don't know about Qld, but in SA a scooter can be driven on a car license.
