Dressmakers

Today, Mr Yorkie sent off our agent appointment. Huzzahh!! He secured the last place for his IELTS test local to us. Huzzahh again!!
Now, I have re-launched my dressmaking business (I make bespoke wedding gowns and curtains. Big difference I know) I would love to continue with the business when we eventually get to Oz. I know people are always getting married, but do houses have curtains over there or is it all blinds??
Stupid question I know.

(and just realized I'm signed in as Mr Yorkie!!!!)

I know a friend of mine spent a fortune on custom made curtains when she moved into her new house. I had curtains in some rooms in mine and blinds in others, it just depends what style you are looking for. I think you will find there is work for you.

I know I read somewhere about clothes and such and "camel toe fashion!!!"
Although I do make clothes, bridal wear and evening wear is what I love to do. As I said, on the other scale, I make curtains, blinds, soft furnishings etc. Is it pretty easy to set up a new business again?

Hi,

My wife has the same skills, did her apprenticeship in Brisbane and ran her own business.
From our experience location is critical (specially for bespoke items). Basing your business in a good suburb (home or shop) for example.
You can make a modest income in the lower income suburbs but our business grew much faster once we had moved, it's worth the extra cost (rent or mortgage.
