Depends on the office I think. My husbands work is quite casual as in smart casual shirts and trousers but no tie. Fridays are casual day at my husbands office.

Shirt and tie when meetings are on and dress trousers, rest of the time same attire minus the tie...

Depends on the industry and if you are customer-facing.

The Geek is in IT pre-sales and generally wears a suit; at the least it's business shirt and trousers, usually with a tie. No casual day.

The creatives that work around my neighbourhood are in jeans.

It's OK, I've put it back now. Just been watching Saddam Hussein's hanging on YouTube. Is there nothing on the web I won't masturbate over?

Thats what we do, smart suit/trousers and shirt with tie for customer facing meetings, otherwise same but no tie. Fridays is dress down day.
The UK is going that way too, less people are fixated about wearing a tie in work.

I'm assuming you're not in a customer-facing role renth. Although I was reading an article yesterday about the explosion in the male escort industry, so perhaps you are.
