Dollars, Euros, AUD
Friends, It has been a long time since I got my pr. I am planning to move by July 2010 but it is difficult to find Australian currency in my country. by these days Euro is cheap as a result of the Greek plunge and I was wondering if it was a good idea to buy some Euro to collect to Oz or maybe American dollars which are more expensive. Which currency would you say could be the best choice to get to Australia and then change for AUD?

Bring Euros my friend, I think its better.
In order to get australian money, you just have to get a debit card from your country (it has to be visa electron or plus) and you can withdraw up to $500 per day. Go to your local bank and ask for an extention of your card. They will know what Im taking about and then you will be able to get australian money here.
Best regards,
Camilo.

You could always simply open an Australian Bank account from your home country and then deposit your own countries currency to the bank who exchange it to AUD if the FX rate is decent for whichever currency you currently have.
That way you have a bank account open and ready to use when you arrive. You just go to the branch and collect your ATM card.

Thank you very much, I like the idea of opening a Bank Account. I'll do some research and tell you what happened.
