Default Dogs

Hi All,

We have two dogs who we would like to take with us to Oz when (and if!!) we get accepted. I know this has been asked before, but can anyone recommend a pet carrier and tell us how much we are likely to be looking at????? We already have them Pet Passported for Europe (ie they have microchips, rabies jabs and blood tests etc) so what else would we need to do to get them ready? Is it just the health check, wormed and tick-checked or is there more? The dogs are of similar size, one being a Border Collie and the other a Golden Retriever if that helps. Prices we have seen on a search are SCARY!!:scared: :scared: :scared:

www.airpets.com are very highly regarded.

Wecare taking a Weimeraner to Oz and she will cost about £1800, it all depends on size of your dog and the crate.

We used Golden Arrow in Shropshire in October of 2003.
I found them excellent in every way and also a little cheaper than some of the others.
Our dog came into Perth so was in quarantine in Byford for 30 days. Again I cannot fault them.

Sounds like Golden Arrow are the way forward so thanks guys. Have contacted them for a quote but no answer yet - how much did it cost you for the two dogs?

Maybe you know this: can cats be shipped together in one crate? This is because our cats always feel better when they are together.
And do you know how they do that with the quarataine, it is very hard to find info about this.

I will be bringing my two dogs and a few cats also. I have heard from many people that they can crate them together depending on the size of the crate. I have also been told they will be in the same pen in quarantine.

We have been told that the cats will be crated seperately. This is so they can tell if the cats are OK...after all if they are in together and one is sick, how will they know which one it is.

Our cats will be together in quarantine.

We are taking 2 labradors and we have been quoted by Golden Arrow £2700. This does not include the cost of quarantine in Sidney which is $1157 for 2 dogs or $977 for 2 cats. Quarantine is for 30 days. Each dog has their own travelling kennel.

We also need to get them up to Cairns so this will be an extra charge that I think we will have to sort out.

Hope this helps
