We have recently bought a dog from the Animal Welfare League and want to take him to some dog training/obedience classes (he is a bit of a nightmare on the lead!)

Can anyone recommend anywhere on the Gold Coast?

Whereabout on the coast are you? There are a few 'schools' down here but they're probably miles from you.

Your local vet should have a list of 'schools' in the area, if no one gives any recommendation on here. We got our cat from AWL. Great organisation.

We got our dog from the Animal Wealfare League.....I also highly recommend them. She too was a nightmare on the lead. It was recommended I buy a 'Haltie' Collar........brilliant no more pulling.

There is supposed to be a good obedience place in Southport....it runs on Mondays and Wednesday......unfortunately that's all I know Maybe do a google?

We got a leaftlet through the door yesterday from VIP Petfoods Dog Club, which is just down the road from us in Lahrs Road, Ormeau, about 10-15 minutes from Oxenford.

This is what they are offering at the moment:

Puppy preschool to 6 months - 4 weeks x 1 hour - $70
Gym 1 for puppies & dogs (all ages) 4 weeks x 1 hour - $60
Obedience - the basics - 6 weeks x 1 hour - $110
Beginners - tricks and dancing - 4 weeks x 1 hour - $60
Puppy Foundation Agility - 4 weeks x 1 hour - $60
Annual Membershp - $450 (which includes all the above courses)

We went to have a look at the animal welfare in coombabah,gold coast just down the road from me. I am sure they did dog training classes and there was a group with dogs doing some sort of training.
