dog export to Brisbane

Having searched through older posts re the above, can anyone share more recent info on companies who will transport our small dog from the Glasgow area to Brisbane? All help would be very much appreciated.

We are using PetAir but they are based in Dorset. Remember they have to actually go to Sydney first and then be flown up to Brisbane. All in all we are paying for all the blood works flights etc 3,700 for a small dog and big one, but that is everything - oh except the flight to Brisbane which is another 280 pnds each and quarantine fees which is about $800!!! expensive doggies!!!

I think PetAirs go all over the country but Im sure if you do a search on here there will be other companies.

www.airpets.com

Excellent service. Also contact www.dogtainers.com.au who collect your dog from Sydney, fly him/her to Brisbane where you collect him at the domestic terminal. A lot less stressful on your dog than a 13 hour car ride..

Dogtainers flew our cats up to Brisbane - they were absolutely fantastic, cannot recommend them highly enough.

Pet Travel Services in Dunfermline were excellent when we came over. Mind you that was three years ago now!

Dogtainers will also bring your doggy direct to your door from the airport!!

I have nothing but praise for them, they were friendly, efficient and completely mental.

Hi. There are some really good companies out there that can do pet transportation from the UK to Australia. Most will also do all the necessary paperwork such as import permit and arranging quarantine places for you too. Here is a link with details of several different companies you may want to try for quotes:-

http://www.dogwalks.com.au/index.php...d=34&Itemid=38

There is then the 30 day quarantine period in either Sydney, Perth or Melbourne. As someone said, Sydney is possibly the obvious choice for us Brisbanites. This link to the process on the AQIS (Aussie Quarantine) is useful to know even if you ask your transporter to do it for you:-

(there is the choice of country of origin and then a document to open in either Word or Pdf - won't open at the moment so I cannot attach the actual link - it is worth the effort though I promise!).

And to add a name for onward transportation to Brisbane at the end of quarantine, I would definitely suggest JetPets is on your list of companies to contact. They collect from quarantine and then deliver to wherever you need: http://www.jetpets.com.au/11-11.php. I used them when bringing my own dog from Sydney to Brisbane and found them to be absolutely marvellous as well as the cheapest by miles.

Finally, if you have any questions about quarantine and what it is like or the process, please do ask. I cannot promise to know but I work with all three stations everyday so can usually have a way of finding out.

Very best wishes for your move.

Karen
