Re: The dog?
We used Bob at pet air too, Really impressed with service and the fact that it's owned and run by vets who seem to really care about the animals. They also add a spray of pheromones onto the sheepskin they use to keep the animal calm.
It's a bit pricey to bring them over but well worth when you see them on the other side.
Good luck with your decision.

Re: The dog?
Dolly, did you have your dog flown from Dublin or did you have him flown from London?
Has anyone used Animal Airlines we received a quote from them which is much cheaper than the other quotes we have received and wonder why.
Any information on transporting our little fella a cocker spaniel to Oz/Sydney would be appreciated as we couldn't bare to leave him at home!
Thanks

We used Ladyhaye who arranged all the flights, but we had to do all the paperwork, arrange all the blood tests etc. They flew from Dublin to Heathrow, stayed overnight in Heathrow quarantine and then flew to Melbourne.

Re: The dog?
If you have a big dog Ladyhaye have no idea, they told us are dogs were not allowed to fly because of there size (two boxers). Phoned Airpets they were great said no problem and sorted everything out for us.
So costs for them both £4200 for Airpets £250 for the vets for vaccinations frontline, blood tests and worming treatment for both of them and $1400 for Eastern creek Quarantine.
I'm sure like many ours hated there time in quarantine and refused to eat anything the carer put in front if them. But I would take food in twice a week and they were fine just being fussy. They are now very happy and settle dogs which love there weekends at the beach.

Re: The dog?
We have a golden retriever who is 5 months old that we are planning to take to Perth next May, just wondered how the dogs that have travelled coped with the heat or if they adjusted quite well to it?

Re: The dog?
They have adjusted well, only been here 9 months and are feeling the cold now we are in winter (its still up at 12 degrees at night). They have had to have new beds with sides to snuggle in to stop them getting in with us. In the summer heat (40+) they were quite lethargic but so were we. They understandable drink more.

Re: The dog?
Thanks MarkMC, I am sure he will love it when we get there, would just feel bad if we took him and he really struggled with the climate, hopefully it shouldnt be too hot if we arrive in May and he can get used to it gradually.
