Does it matter where you go?

Hi all - Just a quick question.

Now that the house sale has fallen through it looks like hubby and I are on a mission for my spouse visa validation trip - does it matter which part of Australia you go to validate your visa or does it have to be validated in the state where you are going to live?

Thanks to all who reply.

As far as I am aware, it does not matter where you go. At the end of the day as long as you have the entry stamp in your passport then that is good enough. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

Ta for that - we have already done a reccie to Brissie and thought that it would be nice to go for a look-see at some other places.

Unless the original poster is holding a state sponsored/nominated visa, in which case, it probably does matter.

I don't think that's correct. As far as I know the only obligation is to live for the first 2 years in the nominating state once you have entered permanently.

I said it probably matters - more so for SIR than STNI/RSMS. The original poster holds a spouse visa - so it won't matter.
