Does a magistrates court proceeding count against you in a PR application?
Dear all,
I wonder if anyone can help.
We've been in Perth for 3 years and are currently temporary residents on a 457.
Recently we've had a major dispute with our real estate agent and to cut a long story short it might end up in magistrates court as we are refusing to pay costs that we don't believe we owe.
We are also just about to start the process of applying for PR.
I was wondering if anyone knows if having magistrates court proceedings against us has to be declared on an application and if so how badly does it count against us?
Many, many thanks in advance for any help anyone might be able to give.
Kind regards,
Rich

Only relevant criminal convictions will count against you. Your case sounds like a civil claim.

Yes that's correct, it is a civil claim.
Thanks for letting me know.
