Hi, i moved over here to Penrith a couple of weeks ago leaving my partner and two kids behind who will be joining me in November.
Anyway i was wondering if anybody in that area meets up for a beer or two now and again as it's quite boring sitting in the corner of the local panthers by myself. I can't even find anywhere yet to watch any footy! please help.
It's a nice place here and no regrets but would be nice to socialise a bit as i'm only 32 and not ready for my pipe and slippers just yet.

Sorry, can't help you - I work in Penrith, but live in the south. You should be in Hooters, not Panthers!

Penrith, well.. OK well Penrith.. I was out in Penrith on Saturday to see my mothers family that moved here in the 60's. It was a fair game of Rugby.

Re Penrith its suburbia so you will need to travel a bit..

Log Cabin you will be outnumbered by the pokies but is the other side of the Nepean river from the Pathers World of "entertainment", take the wife when she gets here.

Red Cow you will be outnumbered by the pokies but is the oldest pub and and might be oldest building in Penrith circa 1988.

Pioneer Tavern, you will be outnumbered by the pokies but they have a cricket and masters football and rugby sides.

Hi Glen/Suzanne (and anyone else who is living out Penrith way),
I realise that this forum is now a year old or so but was wondering if you are all still out living in Penrith. If so how is it out there? I'm moving out to Oz next month and will probably be based somewhere around Penrith. If anyone fancies a beer when i get there that'd be cool.
I'm 33 and from Ireland (but have lived in England for the past 13 years).
