Don’t think Lisa likes tradies much…………..

Please ignore the news agency that wrote the report, its the comment i enjoyed, she really does hate tradies or is just men.
From news.com.au
THE news is all bad for job seekers, as new figures show that employment prospects are just going to keep getting worse as the year continues.
A new survey has found that professional and trade jobs are becoming harder to find, with the Skilled Vacancies Index showing a 10.8 per cent drop in the number of job advertisements in March.
Lisa’s response
I hope all the plumbers and tradies will be out of work for a long time for the ridiculous amount of money that they charge you for the work that they do. I tried to help the economy by employing these people to do reno work around the house but they soon got out of hand and invented more and more work for them. How can they justify making $2000 a day just for labour. I may be a woman but am not a sucker. Let them suffer for their immoral practises maybe we should consider cheaper labour imports to teach these guys a lesson and send them to the third world country where an honest day work barely put food on the table. We are a society full of greedy men. Don't only blame the CEO's it goes all the way down the ladder.
Wish I was a cowboy plumber earning $2000 a day!!!!!!!!!!!

The reality is that a lot (an awful lot) of tradesmen have spoiled things for themselves.
During the boom years (remember them!) I had several experiences of trying to get a tradesman's expertise and finding it a very stressful experience.
Between not turning up to appointments/turning up but not being interested in the work/charging extortionate rates/doing a botch job etc etc etc.
I think if you speak to most of the public you'll hear pretty similar stories.
It was so wrong.
People were becoming "tradesmen" with little or no experience as they saw the $ signs infront of their eyes. These guys were making more money than newly qualified engineers did after years of studying.
Now I know there are some good ones - and they are like gold-dust, however the jack-the-lads driving about in their flashy chav cars with their massive egos have spoiled things.
The boot is on the other foot now.

We had one a few years ago, $800 for about 4 hours work. He said it would take 2 days, we agreed a price, and he did it much faster.... without appearing to put that much effort into it.

But a lawyer charging $1000/hour is okay?
I can see her point though. I've just had some tiling work done by a 'professional' tiler. This guy has dome a pretty crap job and both myself, and my builder are not happy. I am not paying him until the work has been redone. If he doesn't like that then he can go f**k himself and I'll see him in court.

No, I don't particularly like tradesmen. Specifically the ones currently building my house. The brick work was such shit that I had to post pictures on here to get them to go back and fix the job. The roof carpenters left shit (and no, I don't mean garbage, I mean shit) behind our garage wall; not to mention the porn mags and the puddle of urine inside the house. Or at least we're telling ourselves it's urine, anyway. And before anyone says it's probably kids going onto the site in the evenings, we go to the house every day around the same time between 5 & 6 pm.

One thing's for sure : There are very very few tradies you can trust.
That goes for money / work quality / etc... all the way.
So I can understand Lisa's comments : She got mugged by them just like most people did during the boom because of the abundance of work and the lack of 'skilled people' ( I can usually provide better work than 90% of the tradies and I'm an IT guy just hobbying around the house ).
Tip : If you want anything done by tradies then you have to be monitoring ( read : babysitting ) them all the time. Which is why it makes more sense to have 5-6 tradies all at once, at least they won't spoil too much of your time while you babysit them.
The house-flippers ruined it also by the way, not just the tradies.
If you can earn more money by flipping houses than by doing a real job, then something is really wrong ...

who would dare to make a mistake with self=opinionated people like this about. Do you do any work or just idle chit chat on here all day.
Why is it you have a opinion on everything, but never ask for advice, are you the oracle of australia
